We praise God for His continued goodness in the life of Kohen.
Yesterday morning as I was praying before we left for the hospital, I kept telling God that I was anticipating Him. As I opened up my devotional for the day it was entitled, “Expecting God. Once again God made Himself so real to me.
Kohen did fabulous with the first test. He laid still and watched cartoons unlike ever before. As we began the second test, he was okay until the doctor touched him. (There were not cartoons in this room.) He turned red and cried big tears, I think out of fear of the big machines and computers. After a few minutes he calmed down and laid completely still for the entire test.
Our doctor told us the procedure he did last July worked for the right kidney and it continues to function normally. He then told us that the left kidney was still having some problems although it was greatly improved since the procedure last July.
He also told us Kohen has Grade 5 reflux into his kidneys, which is the most severe reflux. With this severity they usually do an invasive surgery for repair; the doctor does not normally even try the procedure from last July. And even when he uses it he only has about a 20% success rate. He said Kohen was a “special” case. And of course we know that is because He has the hand of God and the power of the Holy Spirit all over him because of our persistent prayer and the love God.
Dr. Herndon will do another deflux procedure on the left side on May. They will have to put him to sleep for this procedure.
We will keep you posted on the details as it gets closer to time. We continue to covet your prayers for his total healing! Our God is mighty to save and heal. We give Him all praise!
One other thought: I was praying before we went that God's presence would be over our family - that people would look at us and see that we were different. When Dr. Herndon's nurse called us yesterday afternoon to set up the May procedure, she told me that she had told the testing nurse that morning that we were one of two of her family families that Dr. Herndon saw. That just assured me that God had answered my prayers. Pray that we will be HIS light to everyone we come in contact with at the hospital.
